BloomTrac to Curate
Event Conversion
Change the Name
Searching for events in Curate is done by the Event Name - not the client name - so change the name of your event to something searchable. In bloomtrac name of the event might well have been Barbie’s Dream Wedding because I was searching by the client name, now it is Blanchard and Smith Wedding.
Change the Markup
Pop over to the Admin Tab and change your markup. I do:
hard goods times 2 - flowers times 4 and greenery times 2
I don’t use a labor markup, but you be you!
Add a Header Photo
I made a folder with half a dozen different header photos, so I can easily drag and drop a pretty and appropriate header.
Check your Recipes
So, your foliage is not marking up correctly and likely your hard goods and rental are a hot mess too.
Rather than delete the items that are not functioning correctly, we went into our flower library and gave them a z in hopes that they would fall to the bottom alphabetically. It sort of works.
Now we know if we need italian ruscus in a recipe, we don’t select the handy z-ruscus-italian that shows up in our flower list, we scroll down until we see ruscus - italian and that item is marked up 2x as we like, and the bunches order properly.
Fix Payments and add Credit Card Processing Fees
This is my favorite Curate feature - never send invoices again! Woohoo! Here is where you need to update your payments (I do 30% non refundable retainer due now - 30% due 60 days before the wedding and 40% final payment due 30 days before the wedding.) I also charge thru the credit card fees. They can write me a check, or venmo me and they get 3% more flowers!
Update the Contract
My pre-covid wedding contract was weak! I have added all kinds of snappy verbiage and I want them to sign it. So I delete my old contract and drop in the new.
Publish and Send
I want them to sign my snappy new contract, so I send a nice email saying we have converted our software and updated our contract, and that they now have a link that will always bring them to the most current version of their worksheet and payment options. And they sign, no questions asked.
